Frequently asked questions

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. Extraction and conversion happen entirely inside your browser. Your files never leave your device.
How are headings detected?
Lines set in a distinctly larger size than the body text are treated as headings. This is a heuristic — unusual layouts may mark lines incorrectly.
Does it extract text from images?
The tool converts the PDF's text content. Images, charts, and scanned pages have no text to extract — scanned PDFs produce an empty result.
What about tables and columns?
Tables are flattened into text lines. Complex tables, multi-column layouts, and footnotes usually need manual cleanup after conversion.
Is there a file size limit?
Each PDF can be up to 50 MB. Conversion happens on your device, so very large documents depend on your device's memory.
